Rocketry

The primary hook that differentiates Collegiate Comets from other educational organizations is its rocketry program. Collegiate Comets runs rocketry classes during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters, wherein students are taught the basics of the physical principles underlying rocketry. These are punctuated with monthly field trips, wherein we launch model rockets with the children.

The rocket launches are incorporated into the physics curriculum as a way to demonstrate the relationship of force, gravity, and energy. This enrichment helps make the in-class lessons more concrete for the children, and leads to a life-long pursuit of learning and discovery.

The rocketry programs operate in the same manner as our classes. 16 week classes, having 3 classes a week, are offered during Fall and Spring, usually at 4pm. The same program is offered during the summer, in an 8 week, 5 classes per week format.
